Drawing Pens:<\/strong> A good drawing pen is so fun to use. Something that doesn\u2019t pool ink when you pause is super important. I have information about refillable fountain pens to help cut down on plastic, just above. Micron pens are typically single use. Some folks do have luck refilling; look on Youtube for guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amy’s Watercolor Palette: <\/strong>I love these Daniel Smith watercolor tubes<\/a>. A little paint goes a long way because you need to add a lot of water, unlike with other paints. Here are my personal favorite colors: Burnt Umber<\/a>, Quinadrichrone Burnt Orange<\/a>, Yellow Ochre<\/a>, Lemon Yellow<\/a>, Rose Madder Permanent<\/a>, Lunar Black<\/a>, Indigo<\/a>, Phthalo Blue<\/a>, Phthalo\u00a0 Turquoise<\/a>, and Olive Green<\/a>. All of the colors you see me using come from these tubes – whether a mix of them or straight. If you want to start with a small budget, purchase the primaries: Lemon Yellow, Indigo, and Rose Madder Permanent. With these you can mix browns, purples, greys, greens, oranges, and everything in between.<\/span><\/p>\n

Watercolor Travel Set:<\/strong> When I’m waiting in a doctor’s office or a parking lot, or drawing from nature, I love a good travel watercolor set. Not only does it allow me to create on the go, but it also makes doing watercolor at home seem more accessible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Painting Ink:<\/strong>\u00a0 I enjoy working with ink with a bamboo brush to make beautiful, organic marks in my journal, or to obscure something. This ink is waterproof, but is not good for fountain pens, just with a brush.<\/p>\n

Nesting Watercolor Dishes:<\/strong> Lately, for mixing a large amount of one color of paint, I’ve been enjoying these nesting dishes. If you have a large palette, you probably don’t need this. I tend to work in my small pieces and from my small palette so I figured I’d give them a go.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes Paste:<\/strong> YES paste is my go to adhesive for a lot of jobs. I use it for a lot of the glueing in hand made journals and tunnel journals, as well as glueing small pieces to backgrounds. You apply the glue with an old credit card or a palette knife. I use this in the BIG ART and Handmade art journals classes, amongst others.<\/span><\/p>\n
