One of the things students consistently say gets in the way of making art is not having an art space. I’d like to share some ideas for creating a fun and functional art space you can really use in your home. I’ve had art studios in all sorts of space in my home – my bedroom, a skinny 3 season porch, and for the last 14 years, I took over the living room in our house. This is one of the points that I talk about with folks in The Gathering Artists’ Collective<\/a> – when you recognize that art making is not just something you want to do – art is something you need to do for your mental health<\/em><\/strong> and well-being, it gets a lot easier to prioritize creating a space for it in your home.<\/p>\n
