Hi Marlene! Thank you so much for sharing about your space — it sounds like a wonderfully creative (and well-loved) corner of your home! I completely understand how overwhelming it can feel to reorganize and downsize, especially when your supplies hold so much creative potential. It’s such a balancing act to create a functional studio while keeping space for life’s other needs, like the occasional guest bed!

We’re so glad you’ll be watching the video — we hope it gives you some helpful ideas and, most importantly, a gentle nudge to take it one small step at a time.

That sounds like such a smart and creative way to organize your handmade papers, Linda! I love how you’ve found a system that not only keeps them visible but also makes it so easy to access exactly what you need.

Hi Catherine! That sounds lovely! And so creative of you to use the small wheeled cart to store your supplies!

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll *noodle* on it and will come up with a solution. 😊

This winter my husband and I realized we don’t sleep in our large master bedroom. Instead we sleep near our wood stove in order to keep it going over night. This led us to reimagine the bedroom into my studio. Then we moved our bedroom furniture into the smaller downstairs bedroom. In addition to space that I need as a fiber artist I also have better light and space for my creative stations including my computer desk, my drawing station, and my fiber station. It’s the best thing I have done and it brings me much joy to work in my new space.

Thanks for sharing your studio! it’s gorgeous and I can see why it would be an inspiring place to work. My home is not big – I have a tiny room (I call the office) and 1 extra bedroom (In a 2 bedroom home). The “office” has all my calligraphy pens and art pens, as well as my printer.
It is full of supplies and misc art books. Currently, the extra bedroom is filled to the brink with art supplies. My goal is to organize so as to use it as my art studio, but still have room for a blowup queen bed for the occasional guest. Right now, there is not room for the bed (and luckily I have no one planning to vissit any time soon). I have several small shelving units that I want to utilize like your Ikea ones. some of mine are the Ikea ones, some a different brand. Bottom line, reorganizing and downsizing is such a daunting task – I keep putting it off. Will watch your free video, and hopefully I’ll be able to get it taken care of! Thanks much!

I hang 10-15 pieces on skirt hangers in the closet in my studio. I sort them in categories by color, texture, etc. This makes them so easy to see and pull out the papers I want to use.

I have a table in my sunroom that I have created an art area on. I’m using a small wheeled cart I already had to store supplies on. I love being able to use sit down and create!
